Description:

Part of a collection of 45 sewing, knitting and embroidery specimens and two pieces of patterned paper from (one of?) the Kildare Place Model Schools in Dublin. Held in 14 sleeves within a modern binder

Sleeve 6 1) a collar (?) labelled "Tenth Class, First Specimen" bifurcated shape with hemming in dark red decorative stitching, with pink buds, green leaves in two main corners, overall 8.5x8.5cm. 2) a sample labelled "Tenth Class, Second Specimen" of embroidery on white cotton, with green criss-cross stitched border and three line of same stitching across body, one green, two red, 8.2x8.2cm 3) A sample labelled "Tenth Class, Third Specimen" of two pieces white wool flannel, seamed together in the centre, with red criss cross stitching borders to each panel, 8.5x9cm.

Sleeve 6 reverse 1) patchwork star composed of 8 lozenges of red and purple ?wool flannel, overall 15.5 x15.5cm 2) a miniature knitted stocking in white wool (very fine stocking stitch) with conjoined slipper in dark red (very fine plain stitch), 12x6.5cm and three labels each for "Eleventh Class [unreadable] Specimen"
