Description:

A student of Edinburgh School of Architecture, James Galletly was appointed to the teaching staff of the School of Architecture at Robert Gordon's College in 1937. Galletly was later elected as a vice-president of Aberdeen Society of Architects (along with G Smart) in 1960.
Esquisse. Black thick charcoal has been layerd in line's to build up a dramtic contrast between sky, land and the building. There is a stream of water on the lower half which leads up to a bridge, The bridge is attached to two tower constructions either side. An elevation of the bridge appears in the lower left corner. Signed along with title on lower right.
