Description:

Part of a collection of 45 sewing, knitting and embroidery specimens and two pieces of patterned paper from (one of?) the Kildare Place Model Schools in Dublin. Held in 14 sleeves within a modern binder

Sleeve 7 1) Miniature yellowed linen(?) fingerless glove with red decorative stitching on back and hems, labelled "Tenth Class Seventh Specimen", 11x4cm 2)Miniature full length cotton dress with tucked bodice and sleeves with green and some red decorative stitching, labelled "Tenth Class Ninth Specimen", 20x26cm 3) sample of gathering into 'cuffs' at either end of piece, with lines of fine red and green running stitch, labelled "Tenth Class 8th Specimen", 9x11.5cm

Sleeve 7 reverse 1) sample of miniature knitted white wool square with red embroidered flowers at corners, 8.8x8.5cm. Discoloured 2) sample of miniature white cotton (?)knitted hat (or?) with pompom,9x7cm Discoloured 3) white cotton(?) knitted square with self-colour tasselled borders and centre, 20x20cm 4) miniature knitted white cotton(?) fingerless glove, decorative knitting on back,13x6cm. Four labels refer to Eleventh class but are mostly unreadable or obscured.
