Description:

Painted during Gordon's third year at Gray's in 1986 this figurative composition is based on the debris at an engineering fabrications yard in Aberdeen. It was part of Gordon's search for an abstract language, as the artist searched for shapes, texture, colour and composition from which to work.

Gordon's statement:
My work has always been concerned with the polemies of light and dark, warm and cool, love and hate, good and evil. It still is, but now I use diffused, out of focus photographs takenof light souces in Aberdeen as a starting point to develop symbolic colour compositions.
