Artist's statement:-

My work deals with consumerism and manufacturing. I am inspired by industrial and consumer environments,
with their rich visual textures, both internally and externally. The local paper mill and Tesco store in Inverurie are
extensively used.

I am interested in the repetition seen in industrial environments, how things are ordered, coloured, shaped and sized.
I like to explore the notion of how the environments compel us with the latest craze, brand, culture or image.
I try to create surprise and some confusion by using familiar, everyday images, building them up in layers of collaged and
related "packaging" materials, in order to create illusions of depth and space. In dealing with the images which relate to
the working environment and consumer culture I hope to represent the mundane daily acitivities of people's lives in a different interesting way.
