Description:

Frederick St School became an annexe to Aberdeen College and the Art Department became an integral part of it. The move down to this part of Aberdeen became quite exciting being, as it is full of 19th century architecture, from tenement cottages and all kinds of anomalous erections. This townscape pointed to the origins and development of Aberdeen.

The White wall in Park Street shows the contrast between beautifully constructed buildings and a hastily built supporting wall, totally alien to the structure. As such, the contrast had a subsequent aesthetic appeal. There are still constrasting parts of this area that hold that strange beauty.
