I have created a limited edition of bottles to engage Fever-Tree customers and raise money for Malaria No More UK. These designs were inspired by the culture, architecture, and artistic style of the countries affected by the disease.
I selected four South East Asian malaria impacted nations and throughout my research I became inspired by people who live there and their optimistic approach to life. I explored these nations further by looking into their impressive skills of hand-made fabric production. I then combined these two concepts to create a series of bottle labels with beautiful patterns and colours.
From a marketing standpoint, I have selected fluorescent neon colours so the bottles may better stand out from the shelf, to reflect the attitudes of the people in these countries, but also to symbolize quinine. Under ultraviolet light, quinine reveals its fluorescent attributes and I felt t would be both interesting and appropriate to reflect this in the label designs.
The graphics are designed to be eye catching on a busy retail shelf — beautiful and sophisticated so that they stand out and connect with a target audience. Whilst each bottle have its own look and feel, they also maintain cohesion in their similarities to indicate they are from one collection — and part of the Fever-Tree family.

Personal Statement

My approach to graphic design is inclusive and interactive. I like to involve others in the design, allowing them to become part of the design process and to influence the final outcomes.
I enjoy exploring the theme of travel as my main inspiration. Due to mass production, we are bombarded with travel based products that all look very similar making it difficult to find one that will truly remind us of our experience. This leads to the idea of producing unique, interactive and eye-catching designs.
In all of my outcomes I focus on clever and appropriate use of paper and other materials. I want to attract the audience by employing colours that stand out and materials that invite us to touch them.
