Description:

A blown up image of a scaled sketch of 'Torry Point Battery' an area on the south bank of the River Dee, and to the east of the city of Aberdeen. The piece is namely a sketch showing arrangements for infantry defence, on a site used for this purpose from the 1490s. The work shows section CD, and AB, as well as plan of blockhouse and detail of pallisade on wall. Torry Point Battery was built between 1859 and 1861, and was later used in the world wars. However there is no date on this piece.
