Henry Barnett Pont Watson was born on 1 April 1930, the son of Joseph Watson, vacuum cleaner salesman and his wife Margaret Pont. He was elected a student member of the RIBA in 1951. He studied for the diploma in architecture in Aberdeen. He was RIBA Archibald Dawnay Scholar in 1951. He was living in Aberdeen at this time. He was elected ARIBA in 1956. He is no longer listed in 1979, though he continued to practise as an architect and was described as a retired architect at the time of his death ref Scottish Dictionary of Architects
