Description:

A proposal for a Hydro Energy Research Centre and settlement (presented in a VLC format plus an Adobe and Photoshop version of the principal image and an artist's statement)

Artist's statement:
"The aim of this master-plan was to rationalise a strategic urban quarter for the East End of Glasgow. The East End of Glasgow was our chosen area of study, largely due to the mortality rates and poverty statistics which were severely below standard for a first world country. The decline of light industry and factories in the area has created large expansions of disused land.
I felt my individual project could readdress the river Clyde as a natural asset, having been inspired by the Thames Barrier Park in London, which utilises water turbines to create energy. I felt the same principle could be applied on a smaller scale. I decided to develop an Energy Research Centre which would hopefully reinvigorate light industry back into the settlement."
