Description:
Former student and award winner John M Aiken would become Head of Gray's School of Art in 1910, a time of trial and reorganisation, when the school became known as the "Aberdeen School of Arts and Crafts, Gray's School of Art." This was to possibly encourage a relationship with local industries. Around this time, courses for stone-cutters, masons, plumbers, painters and decorators, cabinetmakers and even watch and clock makers were available.

Preparatory cartoon for Langstane Kirk stained glass window. 'The last supper' right hand window. One of a set of cartoon by John Macdonald Aiken (1880 - 1961) executed between 1937 and 1953. This one dated April 22nd 1938. Aberdeen born Aiken was Head of Gray's School of Art between 1911 and 1914.
