Description:

A mounted, full colour map showing Aberdeen, Engraved by J. Gardner, 163, Regent Street. Date unknown, but map was likely to have been produced as a result of the (Scottish) Reform Act of 1832. In preparation for this Act, commissioners had been sent to the various Scottish burghs to prepare plans and reports on their boundaries. The maps accompanying the reports are drawn at the same scale and are similar in style despite being executed by several London engravers. James Gardner prepared several other of these plans, including Paisley, Aberdeen and Edinburgh.
