Artist's statement:
"I am interested in architectural forms and in the industrial environment. In this painting, the symmetry of the structure plays an integral part in trying to capture the inherent balance and stillness of the object, so as to reveal the dense organic nature of the composition. The final outcome was to achieve through the use of colour and tone - which are fundamentally important in this work - a sense of body and organic form, and of something strange, yet familiar."
