Nathania Douglas’ graduate collection aims to magnify issues of consumption, waste and overproduction in the fashion industry. With influences from finding personality in piles of clothing on bedroom floors to looking at installation art pieces where fabric and garments were the key theme, she created a socially conscious visualised collection through draping and digitally collaged silhouette development.

Through re-visualising second hand garments and waste materials, she was able to distort their previous use and allow them a new purpose and a new garment identity. The collection consists of 10 looks revolving around old draped dress shirts occasionally hybridised with organic locally sourced jerseys and second-hand knits
