Description:

Living Layers

The skin is an astonishing versatile organ, the largest organ of the body. My fascination with skin started by looking at the deterioration of my skin due to eczema. This led me to explore the intriguing texture, colour and appearance of all living things using microscopic photography. Stripping leaves of their outer coating and tissue leaving behind a delicate, sensitive skeleton of veins inspired my knitwear collection. I have conveyed this through the use of transparent yarn and 3 dimensional chevron patterns to symbolise the layers of skin.
