Description:

Representational composition featuring a tiger entering a shallow pool. In the background a slender female wearing a striped dress drapes herself across a striped sofa.

The artist intended to convey a loss of identity as the tiger slips into the pool and beneath the water, compounded by the use of its patterning for frivelous objects like fashion of furniture. He produced a follow up piece that fatured a boy sitting on a sofa cuddling a house cat while his feet rest on a live cheetah lying prostrate on the floor.

Artist's statment:
"I seem to recall I was trying to equate the tiger walking into the pool and losing its identity { stripes coat } only to be taken by mankind and used to cover sofas and frivolous fashion icons.
I seem to remember I did a follow up with a coloured boy sitting on the sofa cuddling a house cat with his feet resting on a Cheetah which was alive and prostrate at his feet."
