Artist's statement:

The stadium paintings I made during my time at Gray's were born out of a fascination for line, surface and space. However, as the work progressed, I became more interested in the idea that these structures, designed to house thousands of people; cathedrals of noise and passion, spent the majority of the time empty, still and quiet. The work began to explore the idea of anticipation and the aftermath. The large scale, perspective driven compositions offer the viewer a window into the space. This series of work also demonstrated significant technical advancements in my work, as I began to utilise my materials in new and diverse ways.
