Object Type: Clock
Artist/Maker: Burnett, Gordon
Date: c1985
Dimensions: overall: 22.5 cm x 19.6 cm

Description:

Silver folding clock with wooden case. The SILVER clock was a gift from the University of Aberdeen in recognition of The Robert Gordon Institute becoming a University.
It was given same the year RGU was granted University statues and at the same time the university received the Ceremonial Mace which was a gift from Aberdeen City Council.

The clock was made in Gordon Burnett's Rotherhide workshop in London in the mid 80's. The clock follows on from a series of folding clocks made at that time on a speculative basis. The vertical and horizontal time indictators slot in the body - no solder was involved and a custom circular saw converted from a Myford lathe was used during manufacture.
