Description:

Interaction:
In the design of postgraduate student accommodation, the brief requirement was to adopt an interpretive design approach from highly influenced precedents. The precedent used in this design was Cripps Building by Powell and Moya architects. The main characteristics interpreted from Cripps Building was its relationship to the surroundings. To achieve successful social interaction within a student community, the focus of the design was the communal areas, therefore the positioning and layout of these spaces were the key to functionality. This consideration incorporates stereotypical student life, creating a social community within the university.
